History of Our Club

The Arun Sounds were founded in 1981. We are a small chorus numbering at present 22 members. Although we've been around for 21 years in 2002 our collective years experience of singing the barbershop way outstrips that by far!

Though a small chorus, we are very active in our community in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, UK. In 2002 we already have a number of performances booked for the summer and we're busy preparing for our National Convention in November!

The Arun Sounds are one of many ladies Barbershop Choruses and quartets who are members of the LADIES ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH BARBERSHOP SINGERS (LABBS). There are more details and links to LABBS later!

Our Club Officers

Each club has a committee consisting of various officers, ours has a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fund raiser, Musical Director, Public Relations Officer, Wardrobe Mistress and Chorus/Council representative. The roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are required by the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) the association to which we belong.

We hold our AGM in January of each year and each member of the chorus is invited to nominate themselves or someone else for each of the positions except Musical Director.
